Ming Shi, a chronicle of history, is the last of the twenty-four histories. In May of the second year of Shunzhi, the Qing court formed the compilers of the Ming History. The book records the history of the Ming Dynasty from the first year of Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty (1368) to the 17th year of Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty (1644), a total of 277 years. <br />
